Barbara has worked in historic preservation for nearly 50 years. She was the survey/NRHP coordinator for the WI SHPO; preservation planner for the City of Frederick, MD; and a historian for the National Park Service (NRHP and NHL programs). Qualified as historian, Barbara also has degrees in Planning and Landscape Architecture. Retired from the NPS, she is currently lead planner for a conference on “rural Chinatowns” for the 1882 Foundation. Barbara was elected a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects in 2021 and Membership Secretary of the ICOMOS-IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes in 2023.
