Brendan Harris is a Preservation Planner in the City of Alexandria, Virginia’s Department of Historic Preservation. He received an MA in Anthropology from Georgia State University and an MA in Arts and Heritage Management from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He joined the City of Alexandria in 2021 as an intern working on the Old & Historic Alexandria digital architectural survey project, and now works as a planner reviewing projects for compliance with historic design guidelines. He is currently working on updating the City’s design guidelines with new standards for climate and disaster resiliency.
