Caroline Swope currently serves as the Historic Preservation Specialist for the City of Decatur. Prior to this she worked as a preservation consultant and university instructor. With more than thirty years of experience in the field she has served on preservation commissions, helped organize a preservation non-profit, and has worked on preservation outreach projects in several municipalities and states. She currently manages an Underrepresented Communities Grant for the City of Decatur focusing on women and African American history.
