Chris Happ Olson has almost thirty years in historic preservation experience and has served as the historic preservation planner for the City of Dubuque, IA since 2018. She served for fourteen years on Dubuque and Oak Park IL preservation commissions, managed complex historic sites including Frank Lloyd Wright’s Unity Temple, worked in construction management, restoration training, and previously served as Field Representative for the National Trust’s Midwest Office. She is working to make preservation more inclusive to underrepresented communities through empowerment in decision-making and telling a more complete history of her community.
