Daina Penkiunas

State Historic Preservation Officer, Wisconsin Historical Society, Madison, WI

Daina Penkiunas has been a staff member in Wisconsin’s State Historic Preservation Office for over 20 years, and currently serves as Wisconsin’s State Historic Preservation Officer and division administrator. Prior to joining the Wisconsin state office as the National Register Coordinator, Daina managed the National Register program at the Hawaii state preservation office, and held positions as a university lecturer and was a private consultant. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland, and a Masters of Architectural History and a Doctorate from the University of Virginia.
