Elizabeth Nowak is a Preservation Planner for the City of Virginia Beach, VA. She is the staff liaison for the Virginia Beach Historical Review Board. She has managed several National Register nominations, including updates of older existing nominations, and has created several story maps for the historic preservation program. Prior to working for the City of Virginia Beach, Ms. Nowak was the Preservation Planner for the Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission 2018 - 2021. She has a B.A in history from James Madison University and an M.A in Urban & Environmental Planning with a Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Virginia.
