Helen Breslich Erickson, MLA

Lecturer, University of Arizona

Helen holds a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and a Graduate Certificate in Heritage Conservation from the University of Arizona. She teaches preservation planning in the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University, where she also directs collaborative student internships with the National Park Service. Helen currently serves as the national American Society of Landscape Architects liaison to the Historic American Landscapes Survey (HALS). She has worked on the documentation of numerous landscapes, including the National Landmark nomination for Los Barrios Viejos (Tucson), Fort Apache, Camp Naco, and Apache Pass. All of these projects have provided recognition for underrepresented – and in some cases invisible – Mexican America, Apache, and African American heritage.
