James K. Reap is an attorney who specializes in heritage conservation. He is a Professor in the Historic Preservation Program at the University of Georgia and has served as chair of preservation commissions in the City of Decatur and DeKalb County and as vice chair in Athens, Georgia. He is a founding member of the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions and has been an active trainer in the CAMP program. He has held a number of positions in the International Council on Monuments and Sites and was appointed by President Obama to the State Department’s Cultural Property Advisory Committee.
