Julie Langan is the SHPO in Virginia and Director of the VA Dept. of Historic Resources. Along with Jennifer Dixon, she serves as co-chair of the NCSHPO SOI Stds Working Group. With over forty years in preservation and a background in architectural history, Julie has spent most of her career working in SHPOs, both in Arkansas and Virginia. She has also worked for regional and local nonprofit preservation organizations in her hometown of Cleveland, OH and taught preservation at two Virginia universities. Julie received her BA in art history from Wheaton College (MA) and an MA in Architectural History from the University of Virginia.
