Ramona Murphy Bartos

Director, Historical Resources, North Department of Natural and Cultural Resources

Ramona Murphy Bartos is Director, Historical Resources, and Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer, NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. She holds Juris Doctor (cum laude) and Master of Historic Preservation degrees from the University of Georgia and a BA in History and International Studies from Emory University. Prior to entering state public service, Ramona was a private practice attorney and civil mediator and has been a legal trainer for the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions. She currently serves on the executive board of the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers, representing North Carolina.
