Amirah Lane, Urban Planner with the City of Alexandria’s Planning & Zoning Dept., Historic Preservation division, is a historic preservationist with degrees from Meredith College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. A LEED Green Associate, she is passionate about incorporating the use of sustainable materials into the preservation of the built environment. Amirah is also the project manager of the Old & Historic Alexandria Architectural Survey, which entails managing the creation of a GIS-based survey for over 4000 properties located in the Old and Historic Alexandria District.
