Travis is a Pennsylvania native with a degree in History from Hood College. He has been an avid preservationist throughout his life, spending years as a tour guide and light house keeper at Bald Head Island. He has served as a trustee on several boards including Thalian Hall Center for Performing Arts, the Southport Historical Society and the Old Baldy Foundation.
